When our readers see news reports about head-on car collisions, they probably expect to see reports of fatalities involved. Obviously, when two vehicles that are going full-speed hit each other, the results usually aren’t good. According to a recent report, that is exactly what happened in a car crash in Connecticut.
The recent report indicates that the head-on collision occurred in the late evening hours on May 26. A Connecticut man was reportedly driving his vehicle southbound on Route 15 in Meriden that evening when he somehow lost control of his vehicle. As a result, he hit the curb, flew over a guardrail and entered traffic flowing in the northbound lane. He subsequently struck a vehicle head-on that was being driven by a woman from New Hampshire. She died in the collision.
Amazingly, the man who apparently caused this collision walked away with only minor injuries. He was treated on the scene. Passengers were also reportedly injured in the head-on collision, although the initial reports did not state whether the passengers were in the woman’s vehicle or the Connecticut man’s car.
According to the reports, the Connecticut State Police are investigating the collision. Although it is always important to allow the full facts to come to light before jumping to conclusions, it appears to be pretty clear in this case that the Connecticut man was somehow responsible for the collision after losing control of his vehicle. The family of the woman who was killed in the car crash may be looking into their options to pursue a potential wrongful death case.
