Anyone in Connecticut who has witnessed the devastation of a truck accident knows that these are the types of personal injury cases that need to be taken seriously. The injured party will need to prove that the truck driver owed a duty to other drivers on the road, that they breached that duty and caused an accident as a result, and, lastly, that other parties did in fact suffer injuries and damages due to the truck driver’s negligent conduct.
It is also important to understand that the truck driver might not be the only defendant that needs to be named in the lawsuit. The owner of the truck or the truck driver’s employer could potentially be defendants as well, if there are allegations that those parties were responsible for a lack of maintenance or for overloading the truck.
