Very few local residents think about losing their life when they get into their cars. Rather, they placidly go about their daily tasks confident that today will be just like any other day. However, fatal car accidents are an unpleasant reality that unfortunately occurs far too often. Recently, a multiple car crash on a local highway was responsible for the death of one of the drivers of the vehicles involved in the crash.
According to New Hartford police, a 60-year-old man lost his life in the multiple car accident that occurred on Route 202 in Hartford. Tragically, the man died one day before his 61st birthday. The crash occurred at night when the 60-year-old's Toyota Rav 4 swerved from the westbound lane of Route 202 and then struck a guardrail on the highway's westbound side. The Rav 4 then came back into the eastbound lane and struck two vehicles, a Volkswagen Passat and a Toyota Corolla.
The 60-year-old man died from his injuries suffered in the crash. It's not known if he was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash. A 20-year-old woman suffered serious injuries in the accident and was taken by helicopter to Hartford Hospital. Three other individuals suffered minor injuries.
Local authorities are continuing their investigation into the accident. However, any Connecticut motorist who has lost a loved one in a fatal car accident may want to speak to a personal injury attorney in order to find out if negligence played a role in that crash.
