A motorcyclist was rushed to the Hartford Hospital the day after Christmas with what authorities described as serious injuries. Though the victim’s injuries were non-life threatening, the wreck was significant enough to close Long Cove Road in the Gales Ferry section of Ledyard. The occupants of the truck that struck the motorcycle did not need medical assistance.
The Gales Ferry, Ledyard and Submarine Base fire departments were all on scene investigating the cause of the motorcycle accident. In addition to these authorities, the Ledyard Volunteer Emergency Squad was also lending a hand with the investigation. The cause of the crash, however, was not immediately determinable.
While most accidents result in investigations that hit the nail on the head, other crashes are unable to be solved. Whether it be a lack of witnesses or witnesses with conflicting stories, there is a chance that authorities simply cannot recreate what actually happened.
This can create an issue for a motorcycle accident victim who was harmed in the crash. If they do not take steps to protect their rights, they may be forced to pay for the medical expenses and endure the cost of missed work all on their own.
Local Hartford attorneys can help accident victims prove the cause of their accident and recover monetary damages from the other driver and their insurance company. Whether you have suffered minor broken bones or more serious conditions like a neck injury, a local attorney can help you maximize the amount of money you collect as compensation for your injuries.
