A 39-year-old West Hartford man was rushed to a Hartford area hospital this past week for emergency surgery after a vehicular accident in Vernon. According to reports, the man was riding his motorcycle when it collided with a 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee driven by a 44-year-old Vernon woman. The woman was not transported to any hospital.
The motorcycle accident was severe enough, however, that a portion of West Street in Vernon was closed for several hours. The closure stretched from Ogden View and Tracy Drive.
Authorities would not immediately release further information on the victim of the incident, other than the fact he was rushed into surgery. In addition, initial reports were silent on the cause of the crash, although an investigation was well under way by police responding to the scene.
The driver that caused the accident as routinely determined by such an investigation, sometimes referred to as the negligent party, is responsible for a victim’s monetary damages.
