Local police responded to reports of an accident last weekend in Vernon. According to local sources, authorities were informed that a car and motorcycle had collided on the Hartford Turnpike near Dobson Road around noon on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. Police said that traffic on Route 30 was backed up in the area.
No other information or reports were immediately available after the accident. Authorities could not confirm what caused the motorcycle accident or the extent of any injuries that may have occurred as a result.
The lack of information can at times lead to speculation that serious or severe injuries may have occurred. As this blog regularly reports, similar motorcycle accidents in the area are often unfortunately accompanied by catastrophic injuries or worse.
Motorcyclists are more susceptible to broken bones or some variation of a neck injury or head injury than those driving in enclosed vehicles. This increased risk, though, does not lessen their ability to recoup damages from the person responsible for the accident.
Local Hartford attorneys specialize in representing motorcyclists and their families after an accident. These victims benefit greatly from the expertise of local attorneys who can ensure that the family maximizes their recovery.
Too many intricacies and complexities fill the legal process after an accident. The potential for a wrong turn during the process is real. Since such a misstep can lead to tens of thousands of dollars in unrecovered damages, victims are encouraged to contact someone who has experience making the right strategic decisions.
