A 19 year-old Windsor man was killed early last week in an accident at the intersection of Main and Naugatuck Streets in Hartford, Connecticut. The crash occurred when the teenage victim's motorcycle collided with a taxi cab. According to the Hartford police, the driver of the taxi was also injured in the motorcycle accident and taken to the hospital for treatment.
The intersection was shut down as police investigated the cause of the tragic accident. No other details were immediately available.
This lack of clarity can be frustrating for the family and friends of victims involved in an accident. They can be overwhelmed with helplessness as police investigators pour over skid marks and insurance claim adjusters weigh in with their own opinions. Even then, however, and the exact cause of the accident will not be set in stone.
As a result, motorcycle accident victims and their families are encouraged to get an independent evaluation of the accident from a local attorney. These professionals are experienced at investigating the cause of an accident. Whether the accident was caused by a distracted driver, a faulty piece of equipment or some other form of negligence, local attorneys can help victims ferret out the cause.
Once the factual investigation and assessment is complete, these professionals can seamlessly turn their attention to securing an award to cover the victim's medical expenses, rehabilitation, pain and suffering, lost wages and other consequential damages. Without help, though, victims run the risk of allowing the process to go in the wrong direction making the need for a advisor all the more important.
