The Brain Injury Alliance of Connecticut (BIAC) just hosted their annual celebration and award ceremony. The group recently released the names of eight individuals and organizations that received annual awards at a March luncheon. The recipients were honored for demonstrating a commitment to the field of brain injury.

Connecticut's wild weather results in several truck accidents
The recent winter storm that scattered wet snow across the state caused hazardous conditions on Connecticut's roadways. The slick roads cause dozens of car spin-outs across the state. It was the truck accidents, however, that caused the most mayhem. In the eastern half of Connecticut, trucks were finding it especially difficult to get around. The hills on I-84 were practically impassable for tractor-trailers.
Connecticut senator speaks out for motorcycle accident victim
In June, a fatal accident claimed the life of a father and husband. The victim, a 31-year-old man, was killed while riding home on his motorcycle. An unregistered minivan driven by a repeat drunk driver, habitual motor vehicle offender and convicted felon struck the motorcycle and drove off. Unfortunately, this tragic motorcycle accident is not unique.
Hartford hospital treating accident victim for brain injury
A Meriden woman was ejected from her truck during a recent accident on I-691. According to information from the state police, the woman's Chevy Sentry struck a guard rail and rolled, causing her to be thrown from the vehicle. The accident remains under investigation and it is currently unclear whether any other vehicles were involved or if any other factors may have caused the driver to lose control.
